Redefining Balance, Function, and Confidence

At Pacific Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we are proud to be recognized as one of the nation’s leading centers for orthognathic surgery, treating patients from across Glendale, Mission Hills, Pasadena, Arcadia, Southern California, and even from abroad. Orthognathic surgery, also known as corrective jaw surgery, encompasses a range of procedures designed to correct skeletal and bite discrepancies of the upper or lower jaw.

With almost two decades of partnership and many successful procedures, our team of board-certified surgeons, Dr. Jeffrey Hammoudeh, Dr. Mark Urata, Dr. Nam Cho and Dr. Lauren Odono, bring exceptional skill, precision and artistry to every case.

Drs. Hammoudeh and Urata are among a select few oral and maxillofacial surgeons in the nation who are also board-certified plastic surgeons. This rare dual expertise allows them to approach each procedure with a deep understanding of both facial function and aesthetics, ensuring results that are beautifully balanced and natural. Supported by Dr. Cho‘s and Dr. Odono’s extensive experience and commitment to excellence, our surgical team provides a collaborative and comprehensive approach to care that is unmatched in scope and quality.

Together, they deliver outcomes that restore alignment, enhance facial harmony and improve airway function, helping patients achieve comfort, confidence, and renewed balance.

Every aspect of your treatment, from initial planning through recovery, is carefully designed to ensure the highest level of precision, comfort and long-term satisfaction.

Why Jaw Surgery?

There are many reasons patients may require corrective or reconstructive jaw surgery, ranging from facial trauma, TMJ disorders and congenital conditions to airway or bite alignment concerns. These complex cases demand advanced surgical skill and cutting-edge technology. At Pacific Coast Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, we combine both. Our surgeons are known for their mastery in reconstructive jaw procedures, their commitment to innovation, and their ability to treat even the most complex cases with exceptional accuracy and care. Whether the goal is to restore function, correct asymmetry or enhance facial proportions, we offer full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery to help you look, feel and function at your best.

The Corrective Jaw Surgery Process

Corrective jaw surgery typically unfolds in three stages:

  1. Consultation and Surgical Planning

Your journey begins with an in-depth consultation where our surgeons will review your records, discuss your goals and design a personalized treatment plan. During this appointment, we use advanced 3D digital imaging and virtual surgical planning to ensure accuracy and predictability. Your surgeon will take the time to explain your recommended procedure, including risks, benefits and alternatives. Afterward, our treatment coordinator will help you navigate insurance benefits and financial options. We also collaborate directly with your orthodontist to ensure a unified, coordinated approach to care.

  2. Before Surgery

Before surgery, your orthodontist will align your teeth though some cases may qualify for a surgery-first approach. Once your orthodontist confirms readiness, your final surgical plan will be reviewed, and your procedure will be scheduled.

  3. Surgery and Recovery

Your surgery will be performed at one of our affiliated hospitals by our expert surgical team. Depending on your needs, you may stay overnight for comfort and observation. After surgery, our doctors will guide you through a detailed recovery plan, ensuring smooth healing, comfort and optimal results.

Team Expertise

Drs. Hammoudeh and Urata hold the rare distinction of being both oral and maxillofacial surgeons and board-certified plastic surgeons, allowing them to combine surgical precision with refined aesthetic vision.
